METALS IN HISTORY:
Musical instruments have historically been made out of sterling silver due to sterling silver having a special sound character, some brass wind instrument manufacturers use 92.5% sterling silver as the material for making their instruments, including the flute and saxophones. For example, some leading saxophone manufacturers such as Selmer and Yanagisawa have crafted some of their saxophones from sterling silver, which they believe will make the instruments more resonant and colorful in timbre.

JEWELRY POLISHING CLOTH
Great to add on to your polished sterling silver or copper jewelry purchase! Or feel to purchase on its own as well!
Safely cleans chains, clasps, ear wires as well as solid polished sterling and copper pieces. Just gently polish in a circular motion or run polishing cloth gently down the length of the chain. Long lasting and has no harsh chemicals that will damage the metal or stones!
Cloth measures 7 3/4" x 5"
Note: Satin finish sterling , copper and aluminum items are best touched up with a fine grit sandpaper which you can find at your local hardware store. Cut a small 1" x 1" square from large sheet and then just gently rub in one direction so the the surface has an even finish.
If you are sensitive to copper or sterling silver which is 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper, coming into contact with your skin you can put a thin layer of clear nail polish over the surface to act as a barrier, this will also reduce tarnishing. This method works especially well on the inside of rings and backs of charms! ( A lot of health food shops now offer non toxic nail polishes that work great for this!)
Also if you wear perfumes or hairsprays let them fully dry before you put on your jewelry this will cause less tarnishing and chemical reactions to the metal than if they are sprayed directly onto the surface. Satin finish items are more prone to react.
